(She doesn’t Care & It’ll Never Work Out). My Wife Sheryl passed Away on the 20th May 2021, Pastor Johnny Hurt Preached her funeral. I got to see many old friends, your sister Sheila & her daughter Theresa, your niece Summer Newlin dau/of your brother Lonnie. To name a few.. Lonnie showed me the Galaboochies record he had received & a pic & listing from the Newspaper where we won the battle of the bands in Oct. 1967 showing us receiving our Trophies. Back on my 70th Birthday Sheryl (my wife) gave me a glass Pic Frame, in it she put one of my band uniforms, the record we made & pic’s of us riding on the back of that flatbed on the 4th of July parade & pic’s of us playing when we won the battle of the bands, also another newspaper pic & listing of us receiving our Trophies at the Comunity Center, (remember when we broke the attendence record there) Sure had some good times then!! Haven’t seen Hector or Jackie since I went into the Army in 1968. great to have seen Lonnie,Think about all of you all the time!! Sure glad my son seen your post!!! hope you see my Post. I met Thelmer as that 14 year old through my cousin and it may have swayed my path for a bit. I mean who doesn't want to be a rock star? I was even in a band out of high school. Turns out you have to eat though. I am surprised to read about this blog and am grateful that The Galabooches left an impression on a few people and hoping that they were fans. I don’t play in a group any longer but music is still who I am and will always be. I now live in Texas and I just retired from Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Yep it’s a long stretch from Rock and Roll to a prison guard CO5. I still play and fact I have my own studio to record and was thinking of re-recording IT’LL NEVER WORK OUT! Being a Galaboochie back then was a learning experience but was mostly fun. By the way...the song is available on iTunes as a collection of garage bands just search “The Galabooches” I have a few more songs recorded if anyone would like a CD for free. Just e- mail me “lynnlaw50@yahoo.com” just drop me a line and I will get right to it and to you.P.S. Dave who lived behind me...I have a Neice who would love to give her dad Lonnie a record of these songs. So hit me up and I will put you in touch. Hope to hear from anyone about The Galabooches. Later!Thelmer LAWSONhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12675609966848657234noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1230578421281336811.post-5027565863859929692019-04-27T15:24:04.801-05:002019-04-27T15:24:04.801-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Summer Newlinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04055148005583041264noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1230578421281336811.post-11252668871350896772019-04-27T15:22:14.215-05:002019-04-27T15:22:14.215-05:00Oh Dave please tell me you still have it!! I can still remember riding on a flatbed trailer "playing" their song in a parade. Jack boots, straight leg black pants, white turtle neck shirts and a black jacket. Thelmer gave me a love of music I still own to this day...egads...almost 50 years ago. If anyone knows how to get hold of the girl Summer who commented on here, I have the 45 to give her. Thanks.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1230578421281336811.post-85559319811614519762014-05-24T17:44:11.005-05:002014-05-24T17:44:11.005-05:00Hector,

I stopped by Bud Pressner's studio in the late 70's to try and elicit some information about the Staff and Hi-Hat releases, but didn't have much luck. Said he was too busy. He did give me a 12 January 1967 recording date for #186, which happened to be on the Frontier label (Rex White was the artist; I had both of these in my collection at the time.) Everything was in the same numbering series, so this was probably a spring 1967 recording date, I should think.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1230578421281336811.post-16833341779931625222012-02-26T08:08:11.093-06:002012-02-26T08:08:11.093-06:00Great band name...Great band name...WESTEXhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06053780688030818857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1230578421281336811.post-19164838842451649672012-02-25T22:52:57.495-06:002012-02-25T22:52:57.495-06:00I have been looking for a copy of this outstanding...I have been looking for a copy of this outstanding 45 for some time.
