Tribu-Terrys 1965

I finally found a pic of the Tribu-Terrys. This is earlier than I thought they existed, from December '65. Still don't know why they and the Noblemen from McCordsville recorded on the Prism (Dayton, Ohio)label. I'm just glad they recorded at all. Hear Leavin' to Stay right now. Known 45 is Prism 1951 - Leavin' to Stay / My Shadow is You. I'm hoping soon I'll be able to list the band members!!!! This song is too good to be forgotten, so if you know anything, just call me!!

these guys were from franklin, right? i know it has to be close, cuz of the gateway mention. that was a deadly insult, growing up in franklin, calling someone a "gateway gator."

I haven't been able to confirm that The TribuTerrys were from Franklin, but it does make sense. A benefit for a local "learning center" is not exactly what a touring band would have been booked for, I would think.

Did you notice the "Inc" on the drumhead? These guys played for a least a year, why has no one found them?

The original band as pictured are from top left: Bruce English (deceased) - bass guitar; founding member Terry Vandiver - lead guitar and vocals; founding member John Carter - rhythm guitar and vocals; Robert Duff - drums; Bud Schenk - organ. Later Robert was replaced on drums by Hollis Heuer. The original band hailed from Rushville and will be playing a reunion concert there on August 1st, 2009.
