Turks - Evansville

The Turks, Evansville, Indiana circa 1967.
The Turks released several 45's on the P.D.B. label that included:

111-112 Dianne - Baja
112-114 Hide Away - Wipeout
211-212 Love Can Never Hurt You (Just Break Your Heart)It's So Good

Other than the "R. Snodgrass" as the writer, I have no other leads on these guys! Jason@Indiana45's once told me that the "Young Turks" on the Dash label (Chicago) was the same group. at this point I don't know!
I'll add Diane and Baja when I find that 45, I have it somewhere in this mess!

  2. There was a Randy Snodgrass who was a member of the "Roadrunner" band from Henderson, KY. Might be the same as the writer of the song.

  3. I was in the group Silly Putty. The some of the members were: Zen Cymbala, Terry Rutledge, and Bruce McPherson. We played up against the Turks on several gigs. They always made you bring your A game. They were a great band. The drummer was Mark Standrig. I think he is a dentist in Evansville. His dad (also a dentist) was the manager and friend to all the other bands in town.....Zen Cymbala (NBC Universal Television Networks- Chicago)

  9. Randy Snodgrass was a very talented man and my grandpa. He taught me everything I know today and I thank God that he made me his grandson. The world just lost a star and I’m heartbroken. Randall Snodgrass passed away Friday, Feb. 4, 2022. We love you Opa.
