Sons of Sound - Bloomfield

Today's adventure starts again in Bloomfield, IN., home of Jim Bogans' TAGG (Teen a go-go) Productions. The Sons of Sound hailed from Terre Haute and may have been known as the Checkmates previously.

He's Gonna Ride
So Be It

The "Sons of Sound" played original material, which the one known 45 displays.

Band Members included:(corrected spellings -thanks John D)
Steve Peters - Drums
Bill Peters - bass
Steve Borgman - rhythm guitar
Doug Mason - keyboards
Charlie DiVincenzo - lead guitar

Steve and Bill went on and joined Goliath, a hard rock band that put out at least one LP in the early seventies "Hot Rocks and Thunder". The rest of the team, your guess is as good as mine!

Awesome find, and a great 45. Growing up in Terre Haute I saw Goliath live several times, they were quite popular in the area even before their lp came out. Sons of Sound, I don't remember but perhaps I should... Thanks for posting!

There are a couple of errors on the Sons of Sound band members names:
Rhythm guitar player is Steve Borgman and the keyboardist was Doug Mason

Thanks John, I assume with a name as "DiVincenzo" that you were very close to Charles? Keep readin', and if you spot anything else, would be glad to have more input!

Charlie DiVincenzo was a truly great lead guitarist, kind of ahead of his time. Unfortunately he died young but if he'd lived we'd all be reading about him now in rock history books. I always admired his playing a ton. Great blog, very interesting.
